Nickel in Batteries

The chemistry of batteries is constantly evolving as improvements to battery life and properties are being made. The NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) battery has been the standard battery for most of the early hybrids. The lithium ion battery is being used in some of the newer hybrids. Some of these batteries also use nickel in the formulations, whereas others use cobalt.
