Duplex Fabrication Made Easier

April 17, 2002 -- A revised edition of "Practical Guidelines for the Fabrication of Duplex Stainless Steels" has been published by the International Molybdenum Association.

While the fabrication techniques of duplex stainless steels are similar in many respects to those of austenitic stainless steels, there are important differences. This brochure compares the two by bringing together all of the practical information that fabricators need to work successfully with duplex stainless steels. The 48-page brochure contains information on the following:

History of Duplex Stainless Steels
Chemical Composition and Role of Alloying Elements
Metallurgy of Duplex Stainless Steels
Corrosion Resistance
End User Specifications and Quality Control
Mechanical Properties
Physical Properties
Cutting
Forming
Machining
Welding
Other Joining Techniques
Post-Fabrication Clean-up
