President Addresses British Stainless Steel Association
April 18, 2007 -- Nickel Institute President Stephen Barnett addressed the Annual Lunch of the British Stainless Steel Association (BSSA) on April 18, 2007.
Held at Cutlers’ Hall in Sheffield, the lunch presentation attracted BSSA members and guests such as stainless steel producers, stockholder, fabricators and users.
Mr. Barnett reviewed the important role that nickel plays in the economy of the U.K. and the E.U., he outlined the essential properties that nickel brings to the stainless steel industry, and the role it plays in such industries as communications, architecture, energy, and food production. He also encouraged BSSA members to be aware of the health and safety practices that are necessary to protect workers in the workplace from the health risks associated with nickel.
