Nickel Use in China
May 21, 2004 -- The future pattern of nickel use in China should be expected to be very
similar to that in the rest of the developed world, argues Dr. Ivor Kirman, President of the Nickel
Institute.
In his presentation: "The Changing Pattern and Outlook for Nickel use in China" at the "China Nickel Outlook
2004" conference in Shanghai today, Dr. Kirman summarised the current pattern of nickel use outside of China.
He provided examples of nickel products that are critical to many aspects of modern society and made the
point that these products are just as important to China as they are to other parts of the world.
Total use of nickel in products in China is already very large - much larger than is apparent from statistics
of Chinese use of primary nickel.
