Nickel Institute supports Euractiv workshop on REACH Authorisation
The EU media Platform Euractiv held on 22nd January 2013 a Stakeholders Workshop on REACH Autorisation: 'What impact for industry, SMEs and consumers?'. The event, organised with the support of the Nickel Institute, was well attended, with représentatives of public authorities, downstream users and other sectors. Industry stressed the need for a strong Risk Management Option (RMO) analysis to be performed as early as possible in the Autorisation process in order to identify the appropriate regulatory measures. The need for REACH to take into account the essentiality of substances was also highlighted, as well as the potential negative impact of Autorisation and substitution on achieving the objectives of other EU policies (climate change, resource efficiency, etc...).
