The Nickel Institute joined the METALS FOR BUILDINGS alliance, which consists of 9 European and International Metals Associations. Aim of this alliance is to promote the unique strenghts of metal products for recyclable & sustainable buildings. The use of metals in buildings should be considered as an investment, and not as pure use. Metal scrap collection and recycling from the demolition or renovation of buildings is alreadry a well-established business activity thanks to the high intrinsic value of metal scrap. METALS FOR BUILDINGS calls on legislators to address the unique attributes of metal building products and their inherent value for future generations, by including end-of-life recycling in all studies.
